We are seeking teachers to join our School Age program for the remainder of this school year and beyond. Ideal candidates will be able to work with us both part-time
in the before and after care program during the school year, as well as full-time during the upcoming 2022 summer break. If you would love to spend your time with children ages 5 - 12 playing games,
creating art, using your imagination, enjoying the outdoors, and learning more about God together - we invite you to join our team!
Start Date: ASAP (with 40 hours of paid training)
Hours:
- September - June ideally candidates will be available Monday - Friday for either before care 6 a.m. - 10 a.m. or after care 2 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
- July & August we offer a full-day program, with hours available Monday - Friday 6 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.
- Hours will vary weekly based on enrollment and staff availability
Description of Responsibilities:
- Teaching God's Word through stories, song and teachable moments
- Plan, implement and supervise classroom lesson plans that are consistent with the mission of JLU Child Care.
- Knowledge and compliance of all state regulations governing the operation of the center.
- Professionalism, respect and compassion for all employees, parents and children.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Communicating with parents during parent drop off and pick-up.
- Cleaning the classroom and equipment throughout the day as needed.
- Caring for basic needs of children including serving meals.
- Ability to remain standing for duration of shift.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
- Ensuring safety of the children getting on and off the bus each day including walking with and supervising children in all weather.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- HS diploma is preferred (will consider candidates in high school but must be a minimum of 16 years old)
- Experience related to caring for school age children
- Desire to share God's love to children and families; experience teaching Sunday school, VBS or leading small groups is preferred
Pay & Benefits:
- $13.50 - $15.00/hour depending on experience and availability.
