If you reside within the Spencerport CSD and have a child who will turn 4 years old no later than 12/1/25, then you qualify for the 2025 - 26 UPK program at JLU!
UPK runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday – Friday. This program is FREE to your family if your spot is confirmed! These spots are limited – and only can be guaranteed by the school district.
As a member of the JLU UPK program, your child also has the option to attend the following programs at an additional cost:
- Before care 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
- After care 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Full-day care on days school is closed.

Spencerport UPK Teacher
Mrs. Veronica Dodge
Joined JLU: October 2024
Degree: Master’s in education from SUNY Geneseo; NYS permanent teaching certification Nursery – grade 6, Reading and Special Education
Experience prior to JLU: 20 years of teaching experience including at Head Start, Rainbow Preschool, the NYS School for the Blind as well as the Pavilion, Geneseo and York central school districts
Personal life: loves spending time with her husband and 6 dogs; enjoys fostering pets, playing piano and spending time with family and friends

Mrs. Darleen Croucher
Joined JLU: January 2011
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Sociology from Roberts Wesleyan College
Experience prior to JLU: over 25 years of experience teaching in child care centers, elementary schools and acted as director and assistant director at her previous
center
Personal life: married, attends Christ Reformed Church.

Mrs. Rejoice Smith
Joined JLU: June 2025
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in education with a concentration in English from the University of St. LaSalle in the Philippines
Experience prior to JLU: seven years of teaching experience including working with elementary and high school students
Personal life: enjoys cooking, karaoke, camping and being in nature
The mission of JLU Child Care is to provide quality, Christian education to infants, toddlers, preschool, pre-k and school age children. JLU is a full-day program, open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and is licensed by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.
